A Springtime celebration of popular sacred choruses

We are pleased to announce an extravagant musical feast entitled ‘Choral Classics: a Concert of Popular Sacred Choruses & Tenor Arias’, taking place on Saturday 31st March.  Conducted by Musical Director Helen Brind and accompanied on the organ by Alex Davies, the choir will sing a wide selection of all-time greats including extracts from: ‘Elijah’, ‘The Creation’, ‘Messiah’, Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and the Requiems of Mozart and Brahms.  From Parry we have the stirring ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘I was Glad’;   from Faure the tranquil ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’; from Bach the ethereal ‘Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring’; from Rutter the peaceful anthem ‘The Lord Bless you and Keep you’ and from Handel the magnificent ‘Zadok the Priest.’  With countless other masterpieces, we welcome back the acclaimed local soloist Jonathan Pugsley for tenor arias and the dramatic trumpet playing of Winston Leese.  This promises to be a night not to be missed and never to be forgotten, so do join us for this very special Spring event.

The concert starts at 7.30 pm at Holy Trinity Church, Weymouth (Town Bridge)

Ticket: £10 (and free for under 16s)
